What Causes Pain At The Bottom Of Rib Cage After An Injury?
recently (two to three weeks) i slipped and fell out of the shower, falling on the tank of the toilet on my left side. I had been drinking excessively (beer) there was no bruising, but I am still experience pain on my left side at the bottom of my rib cage. do I have a broken rib (no pain when I breathe)? or is it something internal?
I can inderstand your concern and will do my best to help you. Your pain after the injury could be due to many reasons like a blood collection at the site or any soft tissue injury or even a hairline rib fracture. I suggest tou get yourself investigated for it. You may require some tests like A Chest X Ray to look at your injured site. Consult a physician who may help you and make a management plan depending upon your diagnosis. In the mean while apply some ice and avoid putting pressure on the area to help to reduce the pain.
Hope it helps.
Regards Dr Manish Jha
