What Causes Pain At The Bottom Of Rib Cage?

My partner complains of a pain at bottom of left Rib cage ..he says it sticks out more on this side..he is petrified of doctors and thinks he will be told he has 1. Day to live. He is healthy, smokes on and off. Good weight. He suffers a bit with trapped wind and iva type symptoms ? he goes to gym and it doesn t stop him doing anything..he just stresses and it s malong him depressed Any suggestions!?

I need to know the age of your partner. See left sided pain should be taken seriously. The first and foremost thing that needs to be considered is heart problem ( well if he is less than 35 years of age -- heart condition is not the first to be considered ) . In that regard he needs to get an EKG done .

Apart from the heart another condition that needs to be considered is Kidney stones. If the EKG is normal then he needs an Ultrasound abdomen pelvis scan.

He needs to change his attitude towards doctors and consult them else he may have to pay price for that. He can take tyelenol for pain relief but do get him tested even if pain subsides.
