What Causes Pain Behind Eyes And Pressure Feeling In Head?

I have had pressure in the back of my head and behind my eyes for over 5 weeks now. First two weeks couldnt even get out of bed. as soon as i sat upright i was sick and dizzy. Have had a CT scan and it showed nothing. No medication is helping. I have found sleeping more upright than lying flat is helping me get up easier in the mornings. any suggestions would be great. thanks

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Regarding your concern, you should know that your symptoms could be related to obstructive sleep apnea. A cervical spine disorder (like chronic degeneration or wrong position during sleep) can also be the cause of your symptoms. For this reason, I would recommend performing further tests:

- respiratory function tests for obstruction of the airways- a multi sleep latency test
- arterial blood gas analysis
- a cervical spine X ray study

A brain MRI would help examine better the brain and exclude other possible causes.

Hope to have been helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards,
Dr. Aida
