What Causes Pain Behind Knee Radiating To Calves?

I am wondering if I am having neurological problems in my leg. I thought first that I had strained a muscle/tendon. The pain started behind my knee & radiated upward. For a week I have used ice. The only change is that it is now radiating downward into my calves. An ultra sound was taken & no clots were seen.
