What Causes Pain Behind The Head And Vomiting During A Panic Attack?

I was having a panic attack and all of a sudden I had this horrible pain in the back of my head and the sides. It s the most pain I ve ever felt. I started vomiting a lot. And it s been about half an hour and it still hurts a lot just not as much. Should I go to the ER?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi welcome to the health care magic

This type of presentation can be due to panic attack...

But here as headache with vomiting present it is better to consult nearby doctor for examination and further work up like....
-Blood pressure measurement
-clinical history and neurological examination
-if needed MRI can be done

If headache is unilateral and throbbing nature than migraine should be ruled out...

According to cause specific treatment given

If no specific cause present than only treatment of anxiety done by anti-anxiety drug like alprazolam and behavioural counselling

Take care

Consult physician or nearby doctor first for examination
