Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having pain in the back of my right knee for approximately 2 weeks. It sometimes radiates medially. It seems to be worse after sitting, laying and going down steps. I also feel some pain in my right hip and right low back. Not sure if they are related. What could be the cause?
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern.I think that your symptoms are related to sciatic pain. Sciatica refers to back pain caused by a problem with the sciatic nerve. This is a large nerve that runs from the lower back down the back of each leg. Some advices that I can give to you are : -Use over-the-counter pain relievers such as acetaminophen, aspirin, or NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen, ketoprofen, or naproxen. -Use muscle relaxants to ease muscle spasms. -Try physical therapy -Try acupuncture If this doesn't relieve the pain see a neurologist. Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
