What Causes Pain Behind The Shoulder?

i have been having pain behind the left shoulder with numbness which is in the left hand which is felt while washing hands or riding a bike. while riding a bike I experience pain when I look to the left. what could this be. I am 50 height 5'6" and weight 78kgs.
