Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain Below The Breast Post Recovering From Pneumonia?
I have been home from the hospital for about two weeks from pneumonia and an infection. I was placed on 8-10 hours of bed rest. I still have a cough but now I am experiencing pain on my right side just below my breast. Does this have to do with pneumonia. I have had it about three days.
i Understand your concern. based on the presentation and my opinion i think the pain is due to prolonged coughing as a consequence of pneumonia. It may have caused your intercostal muscles (of the chest) to have strained a lot. It could also be due to irritation of pleura due to infection.
Just to be on the safer side i would advice you to visit a chest physician and request for a chest x-ray to see the changes due to pneumonia.
