General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

This may be GERD, i.e., gastro esophageal reflux disease, but many other causes may also be responsible. Any problem of the food pipe like ulcer or mass can cause this. In such case we always do endoscopy to find out the cause. So in will highly recommend you should see a gastroenterologist.
Till that time you can use over the counter anta-acids for temporary relief but endoscopy is probably necessary here.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
