What Causes Pain During Intercourse With Diarrhoea?

I am female. Age is 50. Weight is around 200 and height is 5' 1" Approximately 2 1/2 years ago I had what I believe to be a bad case of food poisoning. Since then I have had pain during sex, use the bathroom multiple times per day and just general pain in the pelvic region. Does this have anything to do with the food poisoning? Thanks for your time.

Hello,
Though your symptoms may not be related to the instance of food poisoning, since they have initiated from that event, you need to get investigated for any causal relation. Endometriosis, pelvic infection, urinary infection consequent to peri-menopausal state of thinning mucosal lining everywhere, irritable bowel and chronic infections can be the possible causes. A trans-vaginal sonogram, urinalysis and a colonoscopy and sigmoidoscopy if needed, should be done. Please maintain a healthy weight by diet and regular exercise. Please maintain genital hygiene. Hope this helps.
