Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain During Swallowing And Voice Hoarseness?
Yesterday I was eating at golden coral. Although it is a buffet, I ate normal (one plate chicken, stuffing, fish, and bread). While I was done with it I had got desert Banana pudding and vanilla ice cream. While swallowing the ice cream, I I noticed my swallowing started to be painful which caused me to stop eating the desert all together. Today, my swallowing is not to painful but is uncomfortable. Now I notice my voice is different. and sounds real horse. All day I have been clearing my throat. I don t have other symptoms as to signs with the flu. I was thinking I could have bronchitis. What do you think and what over the counter meds should I get?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain during swallowing and voice hoarseness . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are either due to acid reflux or allergic reaction due to sea food . I would suggest you to take benadryl twice a day , avoid eating sea food , keep your self hydrated and eat light and non spicy . If condition persist or you experience difficulty in breathing then consult allergy specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may give adrenal short to prevent anaphylaxis and prescribe anti inflammatory along with immunosuppressants . Doctor may also refer you to gastroenterologist for acid reflux .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
