What Causes Pain During Urination And Blood While Treating Interstitial Cystitis?
I have already been diagnosed with interstitial cystitis and have been able to manage it fairly well. I am going on day three of urinary tract pain.I ve taken cystex and it relieves it to some extent for a period of time. The pain is getting worse, I m urinating blood and also noticing what looks like tissue in my urine. I can t just go to urgent care (I have a child with serious medical issues, vent dependent in my care) so I m just trying to see if it s likely this is a bout of IC or if I may have a bladder/kidney/urinary tract infection. I realize I can only know this with lab tests, but are these symptoms typical with Interstitial cystitis?
Your symptoms seem to be related to interstitial cystitis. I see through the query that you have already taken the treatment for this condition. So, I recommend continuing the treatment.
I also suggest drinking a lot of liquids and especially cranberry juice. If the symptoms continue, you should do a urinalysis and an abdominal ultrasound for further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
