What Causes Pain During Urination Long After Having UTI?

I have a uti I started taking the antibiotics but then stopped when I was told I didn t have one. But it continued to hurt really bad when I urinate and not in the vagina but the urethra area. It feels like a jagged rock is plugging the end of it and hurts when I urinate. Now It hurts from there all the way up my butt crack I think from wiping after a bowl movement. Is that possible for the pain to spread like that?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
Understand your concern.
I think it is due to recurrent UTI/Residual UTI or ureteric/urethral stone.

Also note other causes:
2. Obstruction in urinary tract
3. UTI
4. Vaginal infection : gonorrhoea, trichomonas, herpes, yeast
5. Vulvovaginitis
6. PID
7. Cystitis
8. Stricture in urethra/ureter

For diagnosis you have to consult the doctor.
Do the following test:
Blood: CBC, ESR, sugar, Urea, Creatinine, Blood sugar
Urine: Culture, routine and microscopic examination
Abdomen USG
Pelvic examination
Gram stain, PCR, ELISA and NAAT for STDs if not resolves

Doctor may give following advice for you:
1. Wear pure cotton Loose inner wear
2. Also take antibiotic for UTI
1. three day course of trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole
2. If not responds, take ceftazidime parentrally

Take plenty of water.
take fruit juice of cranberry, orange and papaya
Do not delay the bladder empty.

Hope this may help you.
Take care and stay healthy.
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
