What Causes Pain From The Sternum Up To The Throat And Ears?

pain from the sternum up to the throat and out to the ears for about 1 hour. hurts worse on an intake of breath than an out breath. Does this sound alarming enough to seek immediate medical evaluation? Patient is a 68 yr old male, obese with High BP..

Here your physical examination has to be done ...
Auscultation and measuring your blood pressure done as primary work...

Chest x ray if needed done. (If auscultation suspicious )

If bronchoconstriction there and rhonchi heard than bronchodilator given...

If inflammation there antihistaminic drug might needed...

The course of treatment depend on cause ...

If no significant cause detected after examination and investigation than it might be simple muscular pain which is treated with rest and analgesic...
