What Causes Pain In Abdomen And Spleen Area In Spite Of Taking Levaquin?

Hi there, I have recently been to an urgent care with symptoms of strep and have had kidney pain that seems to be moving up towards the spleen area. They have prescribed me Levaquin for the past 4 days and has not seemed to help. The pain has gotten worse, I am trying to figure something out before taking another day off of work and wasting an off day with someone who doesn t know what is going on. I would appreciate any help. I have also had hot flashes of fever the past few days

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in abdomen and spleen area in spite of taking Levaquin. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case the symptoms are probably due to levaquin as its side effects . Because levaquin is known to cause stomach cramps and pain . I would suggest you to consult doctor who prescribed you this medicine and discuss the condition . Doctor may alter the dose or prescribed substitute . For now apply warm compresses to abdomen , eat light and non spicy and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
