What Causes Pain In Ankle Years After Knee Surgery And Broken Leg?

Hi, my name is Patrick, I'm a 23 year old male, 6'1 and about 230 pounds. I've had a few medical issues when i was younger from racing motocross. Such as a broken leg and knee surgery for a torn meniscus. Anyways, i woke up this morning and my ankle was in severe pain. It isn't swollen or anything, it just hurts really bad when its not held directly straight? The pain was so bad while sleeping i had to anchor it in the air, using a pillow, because it hurt really bad just touching my bed, and even a pillow. The thing I don't understand is it feels better when i put pressure on it, I can walk just fine. I just don't know what this could be. Any help or insight will be greatly appreciated. -Patrick
