What Causes Pain In Arms?

Pain in upper right arm, thought it was due to sleeping position or lifting baby. Dr. gave me an injection & it went away. But now (3 wks later), I'm having the same pain in my left upper arm and my right knee. Very painful, can't walk up stairs without pain.
