What Causes Pain In Back Radiating To Chest Along With Difficult Breathing?

Today I had a sharp pain that started in the back on the right shoulder blade and came around to my front and hit my chest, I could not breath and it brought me to my knees with my face red. My husband was very worried and took my blood pressure. It was 120/83. I have never experience this pain in my life. What could this be?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Sharp right sided shoulder and chest pain with breathing difficulty is commonly seen due to lung infection (pneumonia).
Pneumonia actually cause pleurisy (inflammation of pleura). This is the reason for Sharp pain.
So better to get done chest x ray first.
If chest x ray is normal then no need to worry for lung infection.
Sometimes sudden muscle spasm can also cause similar symptoms. So take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs. Apply warm water pad on affected areas. Don't worry, you will be alright, but first rule out lung infection.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
