What Causes Pain In Between Cheek And Lip Post Local Anaesthesia?
I went to the dentist and when he gave me a shot to numb my mouth , I felt a pain from side of my cheek to the middle of my lip. I asked the Dr and he said I will be ok he just hit a nerve and that was good he got the right place. Should I be worried
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your query many a times if while needle directly pricks the nerve there can be a sudden sharp pain felt along the course of the nerve.
Many a times the injury is temporary and leads to no further complications while if there is traumatic injury to the nerve you may feel tingling or numbness in the affected side..
In case if do not have any such symptoms you need not to be worried as there is nothing serious..
But in case of you have tingling, numbness or pain on the affected side it has to be taken care of as it is sign of nerve damage but mostly needle prick injuries to the nerve are reversible and nerve gets healed with complete resolution of symptoms..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
