What Causes Pain In Both The Feet After Walking For Long Period?

I m a 69 yr old female and have noticed a pain in both feet after walking for excercise. Upon closer look it appears that a bone is starting to protrude on the outside edge of each foot, midway between the little toe and the heel. It s about an inch wide. Do I need to see a podiatrist?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for this query
Pain after exercise is a normal tissue/muscle response but the protruding bone is what seems abnormal. The protruding bone could be a calluse or any related tissue response to repetitive stress. It may at times be painful.
However, I will advise you see a podiatrist for examination.Your management will depend on the findings of your Doctor .I will however encourage rest, avoid tight shoes, use shoe pads and socks.
Hope this will help
Regards
