What Causes Pain In Breast Bone And Elevation In Blood Cell Count?

i am having pain in the middle part of my breast bone and it kept me awake all last nite. I apparently have a elevated red blood cell count. What do you think it is. I usually feel really tired when I get this pain. It is a dull aching pain, not a sharp one.
