What Causes Pain In Breast Bone While Breathing?

my mother in law is 68 years. she is complaining about breast bone chest while breathing. her height is 5 `3 ft. sometimes she feels back pain just beside the breast bone. E.C.G. result shows that her heart is in perfect position.she is taking muscles pain reducing medicines and anti- gastric medicines too. but situation is getting worst . please help.
