What Causes Pain In Buttocks Radiating Towards Vagina When Diagnosed With Fibromyalgia?

Hi I was just diagnosed with fibromalgia. I am having severe pain in my right buttox and it is radiating to my vagina. Because of all of the medications they have had me on I now have hemorrhoids. I notice a deep tear just above the hemorrhoid, but below the clitoris..what is this and how do I take the pain away? I can barely walk.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, there are various possible issues which have to be discussed as below. The pain in buttocks with radiation towards vagina would be possible gluteal muscle ache from fibromyalgia counterpart. However, a deep tear above hemorrhoid with difficulty in walking is in concern with possible fissure in or around anus most likely. My guidelines at present:
- Consume more liquids and high fiber diet
- Avoid all spices, non-veg, junk foods
- Manage to have soft stool on regular basis with help of bulk forming laxative
- Check in drug basket of fibromyalgia for any drug (as tramadol, hydrochloride or others) responsible for acute constipation
- Sitz bath (sitting in tub filled with lukewarm water) 5 minutes each, 3 times a day, particularly after passage of stool
- Local application of Xylocaine (5%) jelly over anal part
- Must avoid anal intercourse (if applicable)

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
