about two weeks ago I experienced some chest pain between the breasts. It came after I ate way too much on an outing. I am 61 years old, female, and in excellent health. The pain came quickly and radiated into my back. By the next morning I just felt generally ill. I went to my doctor and an EKG was done.....it showed a rapid heart beat, but I also had a fever and he felt the heart beat was due to infection. I had a total CBC and everything was normal. I have these pains sporadically, maybe every other day and it usually follows eating. I have lost ten pounds in two weeks because I am afraid to eat very much. I had an ultra sound on my gall bladder and it showed no stones. What could this pain be from. I doesn't last long, maybe three or four minutes when it happens, then it disappears. I am totally confused.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Possibility of acute gastritis related chest pain is more likely because it is strongly associated with eating. So follow these steps for better symptomatic relief. 1. Avoid hot and spicy food. Avoid junk food. 2. Avoid large meals, instead take frequent small meals. 3. Take pantoprazole tablet on empty stomach twice daily. 4. Go for walking after meals. 5. Quit smoking and alcohol if you have these habits. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
