What Causes Pain In Chest And Shoulder Along With Blocked Nostril?

Hello I am 30 years old and female. Since 10 days i had slight discomfort in the upper chest area and some kind of pressure and pain between shoulder and spine...the discomfort wasnt pain but some kind of unusual feeling and now and then pain in stomach... I went to my general doctor and he said it could be due to gastritis and gave me something for stomach.. They even did an ecg.. Everything was normal. After couple of days my stomach pain is go e but my chest discomfort remained.. 2 days ago i had pain in my shoulder and left hand. Again i have been to doc and he said it is due to my hardened shoulders.. He gave me some medicines for relaxation of shoulders.. In the meanwhile i have cold since 5 days and i noticed that only my left nostril blocked and only my left nostril is running all the time. Right one is fine. Today wen i woke up , my left nostril is blocked and my left side of head is heavy.. Am totally confused and worried about what it could be. Could you please help me? Thanks and regards Aruna

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pain in chest and shoulder along with blocked nostril which seems to be due to chest infection/ chronic upper respiratory tract infection , sinusitis , post nasal drip , chest infection and formation of lump like feel is due to swollen lymph node/tonsils.

Avoid oily and sharp food. Drink plenty of fluids and apply warm compresses to chest . Apply mist humidifiers in room and take steam twice a day to relieve congestion . I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles.

You should visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get paranasal sinus x-ray done along with throat swab test and blood tests and start treatment after proper diagnosis. You should get pulmonary function test done. Take proper course of antibiotics. Doctor may also refer you to chest specialist .
