What Causes Pain In Chest When Drinking Water?

Hello, I often have terrible pain in my oesophagus? (sorry) when I drink water, it feels like someone is stabbing me in my chest or that the water is stuck in a balloon in my chest & when I bend over the water moves, then the pain goes. Can you advise please? HOLY HAMBURGER! I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN YOU GET NOTHING FOR FREE. NO THANKS!

Thanks for your question on HCM.
In my opinion you are having GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) mostly.
Your symptoms like stabbing pain in chest, ballooning feeling in chest with water movements etc are seen in GERD.
It is due to hyperacidity and gaseous distension due to GERD.
GERD is because of laxity of gastroesophageal sphincter. Due to this the acid of the stomach tends to come up in the esophageal, and cause the stabbing pain.
So try to follow these steps for better symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid hot and spicy food. Avoid stress and anxiety. Avoid large meals.
2. Take proton pump inhibitor.
3. Avoid smoking and alcohol if you are taking.
4. Loose weight if you are obese.
