What Causes Pain In Clitoris Along With Burning Sensation?

I m having clitoral pain. Burning and pressure. It feels similar to a UTI. Have been to the doctor 5 times in two months in relation to this. I initially had a bladder infection. Was treated with Macrobid the first time, didn t help at all. Was given Cipro the second time, still not better. Urine analysis and culture were normal after finishing medicine but still having lots of pain. Doctor did thorough vaginal exam and didn t find anything except for yeast. I have used 2 Monistat ovules and 2 Diflucan since then and still no relief. The doctor made no mention of a cyst or checking for one. Do you think he would have as part of the exam or could it be a cyst? I have been miserable for two months and have tried everything I know to do. At this point I feel like I m being ignored. Your thoughts? Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the burning is related to nerve related pain.

Nerve related pain (neuralgia) can occur in any area of the body including the genitalia.

Neuragia is due to abnormal structure or function of the nerve.
Different possible causes such as: (1) vitamin b12 or folate deficiency
(2)diabetes
(3)infection
(4)trauma to the area
(5)liver or kidney disease
(6)stroke, ms or other neurological diseases
(7)exposure to toxins
(8) some hormonal or autoimmune disease
(9)idiopathic- cause is not known

There are medications that can help with nerve related pain.

You may want to consider re visiting your doctor to see if the above is a possible cause and initiate treatment.

I hope this helps
