What Causes Pain In Crowned Teeth After Experiencing Acid Reflux And Vomiting?
Hi,My 5 year old has been complaining of tooth pain in his upper left cheek. On those 2 teeth, he has crowns due to frequent reflux and vomiting from undiagnosed food allergies years ago. Last night, he threw up and today, his cheeks are red and he's still complaining about his crowned teeth. Any advice? Should I take him to the dentist that put the crowns on to check for an infection?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain there is a possibility that he has an infection in the tooth that has a crown and it seems to me the most probable cause of tooth ache rather than vomiting or acid reflux..
I would suggest you to consult your dentist and get evaluated and he can do a clinical examination along with x Ray to rule out for infection.. In case if infection is ruled out first of all antibiotics and painkillers will be advised for relief from infection.. In case if there is relief and the condition recurs, then removal of crown followed by Root Canal treatment of tooth or extraction will be advised depending upon condition of tooth..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
