What Causes Pain In Ear?

A little over a week ago I woke up in the morning and had stinging pain along the lower portion of my right ear. It is intense at times and then backs off a little bit and then re-intensifies but never really goes away. Is there a recommended treatment or should I get go see my physician?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....

As per your complain it seems that you have infection in ear and pain is due to infection and when the infection flares up there is increase in pain..

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and an Otoscopic examination can help in diagnosis..
In case if there is infection he can advise you to take oral antibiotics like Augmentin and antibiotic ear drops like Gentamycin..
Steroids and decongestants can also be advised..
For pain anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen can help..

As of now you can take Ibuprofen when there is pain..
Avoid popping of air if you feel clogged..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
