What Causes Pain In Finger Nails Randomly?

Over the course of the past four hours, 4 fingernails on my left hand have begun to ache, from a 2 to 6 on a 10 point scale. i can barely type with my pinky finger, its the worst. No trauma, no hangnails, no fungus, no nothing... just sudden increasing pain.
