What Causes Pain In Foot After An Injury?

34 yr old male, hit on ankle with slapshot hockey puck. Ankle did not swell, however, dime size red spot on ankle and can not put any pressure on foot without severe pain. No tingling or numbness anywhere. Also can not point foot down or foot up without pain. Also have some pain on back of heel. Realize you cant diagnosis with out xray but have no insurance, does it sound like a break or sprain.
