What Causes Pain In Forearms And Numbness In Finger Tips?

I am having pain in both of my forearms. I am a 55 yo male who is out of shape. I am just concerned because it is in both arms. Some of my finger tips are numb and I almost dropped a cup today. The pain can vary from day to day. This has been going on for a few months. It is becoming very frustrating. I do take savaysa and oxycodone for a back injury.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your complaint with history of back injury suggests possibility of thoracic vertebral trauma, accident, over exertion or bone weakness or osteoporosis to cause pinching of the nerve supplying to the fore arms at the same levels on both sides of the vertebra to cause nerve supply hampering to the affected parts of the problem.

MRI of thoracic point would pin point the cause which can be then managed with medicines, local steroid injection /physiotherapy or surgery whichever suits the causative factor. Consultation of a spinal surgeon would help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
