What Causes Pain In Groin Area?

I am an 89 year old man in relatively good health. For a few weeks now whenever I sit in a chair for 30-40 minutes and try to stand I get a pain in my right groin area. After I stand for 5/6 seconds I can walk away with absolutely zero pain. What is the problem/treatment? ... YYYY@YYYY

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Pain in groin area could be due to an enlarged lymph node.
Sometimes enlargement lymph nodes become painful especially when there is acute infection or inflammation in lower limb or in urinary tract.
However, you should have felt an enlarged lymph node if it was present.
Injury or trauma could be another cause for the pain.
Is there any history of injury or trauma to the groin?
Vascular problems like obstruction to flow of blood can also lead to pain while initiating any movement.
However, this type is more common in calf muscles rather than in groin.
I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment, relevant investigations, diagnosis and thus treatment.

Thanks and take care
