Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve had increasing sharp pain in my left hand for almost three weeks now. I didn t injure it - that I m aware of - but if I move it a certain way, it causes a sharp, sudden pain that radiates from the base of my thumb knuckle into my wrist and is sensitive to the touch.
Your symptoms seem to be related to a pinched nerve in the hand. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to pain. I also suggest to do gentle stretching exercises for relieve. Cold compresses can be helpful in pain relief. If the symptoms continue, you should see a neurologist for further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
