Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have started getting sharp pains in my head when I shake my head fairly vigorously and when I am moving over uneven surfaces such as paving stones. When I am not doing these activities these pains disappear. I have had this condition for two months roughly and am finding it is debilitating and wearing me down. I sleep well. I have MS and have been taking Clonazepam for 7 months which has helped enormously with dreadful muscle spasms in my legs.
The headache with shaking maneuvers indicate possible imbalance involving the inner ear fluid mechanics or cochlear apparatus most likely. In my clinic, I do recommend a detailed analysis of: @ Hearing with Weber and Rinne's test @ Vision evaluation for near and peripheral vision Any nystagmus or abnormal movements of gaze palsy @ Fundoscopy @ Peripheral nerve and cranial nerves functioning @ Postural tests @ Sensory and motor functioning to evaluate ascending and descending pathways of brain and spinal cord
An MRI brain may be demand of need in many of the cases.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
