What Causes Pain In Hip Radiating To Leg?

Hi I have a question regarding my right hip. It started a few years ago where it would only hurt if I would stand or sit for a long period of time, and it was just in the hip area. Now over the past few months it's progressively getting worse in my right hip. It will start as a sharp pain in the hip, then radiate down my leg. I get sharp shooting pain in the inside of my knee, and my groin area ( don't know the term for a girl.) For about an half or so depending if I was exercising or not, after that it just continues as an achy feeling in the hip and thigh area. Sometimes I can barely walk, becuase it hurts so bad. When I am going up the stairs I feel like my hip is going to give out on me. I've tried everything to help from over the counter medicine, ice, heat. Nothing is helping though. Another note is I don't have insurance! Knowing I need to go to doc, but don't have a way of paying!
