General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to anserine bursitis. But other conditions like uric acid arthropathy or injury to internal structures like menisci or ligaments should be ruled out also. A consultation with an orthopedician is well appreciated for this. You can apply ice packs locally. Placing a pillow between knees while sleeping will also helps. Over the counter NSAIDs like Ibuprofen (motrin) can taken if pain is more.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
