What Causes Pain In Jaw?

On Monday evening or so, I started experiencing pain in my jaw. I'm not great at describing pain, but it's almost like it's real tight or the muscle is tired or something. It's not a sharp pain, but more of an ache. I figured it might go away on it's own and attributed it to stress as I had a stressful weekend. But it's now Wednesday and it hasn't gone away. I took Tylenol and it didn't really seem to help. The only thing that makes the pain go away is eating. When I chew, it feels better but comes right back when I'm done. Any ideas what the problem is?

Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it is very true that you can experience jaw pain due to stress and it occurs as during stress an individual has high tendency to clench his teeth accidentally and it can lead to muscle fatigue and inflammation of muscles thus causing pain..
It can also occur if you have a teeth grinding habit and it can also lead to muscle fatigue and inflammation..
You need not to worry and take a muscle relaxant and a painkiller combination like Flexon MR or Nucoxia MR twice a day and do warm compresses [NOT HOT] over the affected side of face..
Take a soft diet and avoid stress by doing meditation and yoga..

In case if you have teeth grinding habit consultation with a dentist and getting a night guard made and wearing it daily while sleeping can help..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
