What Causes Pain In Kidney Area Radiating To Anal Area After Miscarriage?
I had a miscarriage three weeks ago, a missed miscarriage. I did not have a D and C. I felt fine until tonight. I started having a dull pain near my left kidney that intensified and started traveling to my uterus area like cramping followed by pressure in the anal area. Is this something to do with the loss?
As per my clinical experience, the pain in kidney area radiating to anal region might be in relation with urinary tract infection via gram negative bugs as E.coli or others which has ascended into kidney. Primary guidance at this stage: - Drink more of liquids - Analgesic as Dicyclomine with paracetamol or Acetaminophen after meals - Take care of vaginal hygiene - Avoid intercourse - Prescription of antibiotic as per the culture sensitivity report of cervical swab and urine - Discuss the need of an ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis to find out additional details of the cause and management protocols
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
