Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My left arm, between the shoulder down to my elbow is in a lot of pain. It started just in my shoulder joint a while back, but has advanced to hurting down the front side of my arm, like the muscle area. I am 52. Im not sure if it is something I should be really terribly alarmed about or just arthritis.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in left arm. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like muscle spasm , nerve compression or heart problem like angina . I would suggest you to orthopedic surgeon in case of bone muscle problem . Doctor will take history , order CT scan or MRI along with nerve conduction test . Doctor may prescribe anti inflammatory , nerve supplement , recommend physical therapy and particular stretching exercisers . For now stay calcium supplement , take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and take proper rest. Gentle massage with sesame oil will be helpful. Also consult cardiologist to rule out cardiac disease .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
