What Causes Pain In Left Hip And Lower Back?

HI, I started to feel a pain in my left hip region and lower back and pelvis area 5 days ago or so. I work as a lawn fertilzer applicator and thought I strained these areas in my hip. Now I am getting red welts that were in these painful areas. They feel like bruises, but look like puffy welts, what can this be?
