What Causes Pain In Left-sided Abdomen After An Hysterectomy?

I had a total hysterectomy 8months ago. The past 3 months I have been having sharp pains in my left side similar to pins and needles with a weird sensation in my super public area. I am on Gabapentin ans tamaset for pain. Nothing seems to take the pain away. CT scan clear. Is this nerve damage from surgery?

Hello,

Pain in the left side abdomen can be a sign of infection. Continue to take prophylactic antibiotics apart from the pain relievers.

Such discomfort can be from the internal stitches given during surgery. The external incision heals in a week to ten days but the internal stitches may take longer to heal & they may cause such sensations.

Stay at rest, do not do any heavy work. Take diet as suggested by your treating doctor. Possibility of nerve injury is there, inform discuss with your surgeon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
