Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello, important question I delivered my fourth child one month ago, and ever sence I have had sever pain in my right leg, but its high up on the thigh right below the hip, it comes and goes and is very painful, do you know what I can do for it and what might be causing this problem?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Pain in right leg and thigh after child birth could be due to some nerve injury during child birth. Other causes of pain is trauma to the leg and thigh in case you have sustained any trauma in recent past. Another cause of pain in leg and thigh could be deep vein thrombosis (DVT). DVT is a condition characterized by formation of clot in deep veins. A clinical assessment by a surgeon is required. If clinical assessment favors DVT, a doppler ultrasound will be required. Thus, I suggest you to consult your surgeon for clinical assessment, investigations and thus management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
