What Causes Pain In Leg Radiating To Knee And Ankle?
I have a painful Left Leg. The pain is in the front of the leg radiating from the knee to the ankle area. There is no pain at the back of the leg or in the buttock and thigh. I did not have any falls or severe painful events. I was told the XRays were good, the MRI was good (maybe the MRI was for the buttock and leg area) To reduce the severe pain in the beginning (I had t ogo to the emergency department at the hospital ) for the first 3 nights as the pain was very severe. I was eventually discharged with Endone one at night, Amitriptyline one tablet at night, Pregabalin 75mgs one tablet twice daily and Naproxen 500mgms one tablet twice a day with meals. the effect was it make me drowsy and wobbly in the head and reduced the pain somewhat. Now the doctors are telling me I have a very high liver function test and need to have another MRI, urgent. Can you make any sense from this. Thanks Bev
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pain in leg radiating to knee and ankle . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like wrong posture , injury , vitamin B12 or E deficiency , nerve compression , disc problem or sciatcia . Herinated disc or compressed fracture can also cause such symptoms .For now do not do exercises under expert , take complete rest and apply warm compresses to leg . For now take proper rest and keep your leg in hot water tub with epsom salt for 15 minutes and apply warm compresses to back . I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI or physical examination . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant , vitamin supplement along with physical therapy and stretching exercises .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
