What Causes Pain In Lower Abdomen And Pelvic Area?

I ve had excruciating pain in my lower abdomen and pelvic area. It felt as if I was in labor. With this pain, I could not use the restroom, (pain during bowel movement), which would result in an unsuccessful attempt. Laying down does nothing to relieve the pain. I have no clue what s going on..

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Excruciating pain in lower abdomen and pelvis indicate possible:
- Intestine obstruction or paralytic ileus
- Ureter calculus
- Uterine and ovarian pathology
- Others

Immediate relief with analgesic and anti-spasmodic medicine or injection and later on planned ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
