General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is common to experience some level of pain and discomfort after a hysterectomy, especially in the first few weeks. However, persistent or worsening pain could indicate a complication or issue that needs to be addressed. Pain in the lower right area could be due to several factors, including inflammation, infection, adhesions, or nerve damage.

It is recommended that you speak with your surgeon or gynecologist about your symptoms, as they can perform a physical exam and diagnostic tests, such as imaging or blood work, to determine the cause of your pain. They may also prescribe pain medication or recommend physical therapy to help manage your discomfort.

If your pain is severe or accompanied by other symptoms, such as fever, nausea, or vomiting, it is important to seek medical attention right away, as this could indicate a more serious complication.
