What Causes Pain In Lower Back Along With Bad Odoured Urine?

I Have a pain in my lower right side back - very dark urine - cloudy urine - and the urine has a very distinct odor. I have had urine infections before and the odor was like a yeast odor - this odor is very different and strong. About 3 weeks ago this started and there was pain at urination, but that is no longer the case. any suggestions?

Hello,

I can understand your concern. It seems like a presence of bacterial infection in the urine. However, as you are having urine infections on and off, it would be better to go for urine and blood analysis before starting any treatment. I would advise you blood test (complete blood count), urine routine and urine culture test. Based on the test results, treatment can be advised.

You can take Acetaminophen 500 mg twice or thrice a day to have relief in pain while the results come. In addition, drink lots of fluids and try to have rest.

You can let me know when test results come to get further advise for treatment. I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
