What Causes Pain In Lower Back And Thigh?

Hello, I've had low back & lt thigh extreme sharp pain. The pain suddenly stopped & know the inside of my left knee is numb. Lt knee has limited motion & weakness with sudden collapses. MRI was normal. This happened last wk. What could be the problem & is this permanent?
