What Causes Pain In Lower Chest When Recovering From Flu?

I am 82 year old woman who is recovering from the flu. My family is concerned about pain in my lower chest when I cough. I am not courging nearly so much today and I think the pain is from muscles that were over-worked when the flu was at its height. I am not running a fever, no chills, etc. Should I see a doctor? HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if this is viral fever which involves the respiratory system then such symptoms of cough and chest pain may be common, but this can be well managed with long acting antihistamine medicine if his is severe, else this would come around on its own, following is the drug you can try
1) Tab levocetrizine with pseudoephedrine three times i day
wait for some time for the chest pain, if this does not improved then better to get done the EKG test, hope this information helps, take care.
I find this answer helpful
