What Causes Pain In Lower Rib Area While Exhaling Deeply?

I have pain on my left side, right beneath my breast, in my lower rib area. It only hurts when I exhale deeply, especially if I hold my breath. It didn't start to hurt until after I vomited 2 days ago. What is wrong with me?
